Yafei Zhu

Ms. Zhu is the President and Founder of Sun Ray Solutions which she formed in 2001 after being approached to provide support and interpretation services for a US company undertaking equipment trials in China. Ms. Zhu has been a technical marketing and telecommunications professional for fifteen years and has worked in a number of manufacturing, engineering design services and infrastructure companies. Ms. Zhu holds a Masters Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the State University of New York and a B.Sc. in Physics from Southeast University (formerly Nanjing Institute of Technologies), China.

Gary Hawkins

Dr. Hawkins is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Sun Ray Solutions and has worked in the telecommunications sector for close to twenty years. Dr. Hawkins has served in senior positions in companies including Orange PCS, NextWave Wireless, LCC International (leading projects for Telfort Mobiel, XM Satellite Radio, Motorola and Entel) and Littlefeet. In addition to an extensive technical background, Dr. Hawkins skills extend into business development, product marketing and venture capital acquisition.

Dr. Hawkins obtained his B.Sc. (Honors) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, England and his Ph.D. in Satellite Communications from the University of Bristol, England. Dr. Hawkins is a Chartered Engineer with the IET, UK and is published in a number of international journals and conferences.

Ken Stanwood

Mr. Stanwood has extensive experience in Broadband Wireless technology development including protocol and algorithm development, intellectual property, and standardization. He has been in telecommunications for 25 years and has been involved in IEEE 802.16 and WiMAX for the past 10 years. He was a co-founder of the WiMAX Forum, co-chair of 802.16 and the first technical working group chair of the WiMAX Forum. He holds 21 US patents.

At NextWave Wireless Mr. Stanwood was Executive Vice President of Technology and Standards. His responsibilities included systems engineering for forward looking mobile broadband wireless technology; corporate intellectual property strategy; corporate standards strategy encompassing WiMAX, 3GPP LTE, IEEE 802, NGMN, and ITU; as well as regulatory and M&A support. NextWave acquired Cygnus Communications which Mr. Stanwood co-founded to create WiMAX semiconductor products and where he was President and CEO. Prior to Cygnus, Mr. Stanwood was CTO at Ensemble communications and he was a primary designer of the layer 2 technology that became the basis for the 802.16 MAC layer (WiMAX).

Mr. Stanwood has an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University and a BS in Mathematical Sciences from Oregon State University, and continuing education in patent law.

Michael Librizzi

Mr. Librizzi has 22 years of communications and semiconductor industry experience with the most recent 10 years spent developing & selling communications chipset system products for Mobile WiMAX, MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance), and Bluetooth. At NextWave Wireless, Mr. Librizzi was Vice President of Business Development responsible for worldwide wireless carrier engagements, and earlier in his tenure, defined WiMAX system requirements for both base station and ASIC products including MAC, PHY, analog and RF. Prior to NextWave Wireless, Mr. Librizzi was Vice President of Marketing for Entropic Communications where he led the product management and applications engineering efforts to develop the underlying communications technology standardized by MoCA. Mr. Librizzi was the co-founder of Silicon Wave (later sold to RFMD), a company that developed Bluetooth ICs, software, and single-chip tuner ICs. Here he was responsible for fabrication technologies (RFCMOS & BiCMOS), modeling, and manufacturing vendor relationships.
